Let me tell you a tale, my friend; Let me spin you a yarn, and then You will believe in more than mortal men; All I ask is - your ear you lend.
A tale full of magic and mystery, No unbeliever will you be After I sing of the small Faerie; Of course, that is, if you pay my fee. The tiniest of all the magical things, And one most adept to flying on wings That beat so fast they seem to sing; Promises of joy they bring. If one should hap to dance around And let her footsteps touch the ground, In that place there will be found A Faerie ring, mushrooms in round. If you come across their bath, You will raise their tiny wrath, But they will send you on your path With a blessing, and merry laugh. If you should hear a Faerie song, Happy or sad, short or long, It will move your heart along; To laugh, or cry, or right a wrong. Before I go, before I leave, Before I end these words I weave, I must urge you not to grieve - If you wish to see, you must first believe.
